We may have gone a little overboard with our Christmas tree this year. We hope it's not too ostentatious. But we love it! It's real, smells of delicious pine and is the perfect size for our flat! Every time I look at it, it warms my heart. We had quite a journey by bus to lug the tree home, so when we saw this one, we knew it was ours! Below is a picture of Ty carrying our decorations back on the bus. We had such a fun time. It was a funny thought of trying to get a huge Christmas tree back on the bus for the ride home. Don't worry, I've rearranged the ornaments to be a little more evenly spread out. And yes, that is a red t-shirt of mine wrapped around the bottome of the pot. I love Christmas so much, it's such a fun time of year.
We were in charge of planning our ward Christmas party, so I'd thought I'd post some pictures of the big day. It was really fun. But you won't see any pictures of Ty because he got called into work just an hour before we went to go set everything up...very convenient. But the party had to go on without him. We had Christmas Karaoke, a Father Christmas from Jamaica and a pot luck which meant a very diverse mix of food.
This is Jean, one of my greatest friends here. She just turned 67, and she danced and sang the night away! It was so fun.

Oh Em! That tree is simply beautiful. And I love that it is real, and you had to haul it by bus to get it home. The red t-shirt base is a great idea! I love everything about it!
Your ward Christmas party sounds like it was a success. Wish we had a Jamaican Father Christmas here!
Love you lots from Kentucky and beyond.
I love the tree! It really does look perfect! :) And do you guys have callings already in your ward? If so I'm very impressed! We haven't even gotten callings yet! I guess your ward is a bit smaller though right?! I hope you have a fun month of Christmas!!!!!
That was so so fun to see the pictures. I can't wait to meet the people in your ward, and experience London with the buses etc. I hope to be just like Jean, dancing the night away. Your tree reminds me of our first Christmas tree away. It was much taller. 5 or 6 feet. But it had fewer branches than yours. But we loved it just the same. See you soon!
xoxo
Mom
Merry Christmas! I think the tree is just right. Your ward is lucky to have you in a calling like that because you are so much fun.
Wahoo for friends and festivities. Your tree is great. We still miss you. A lot
I love the tree. Merry Christmas!
Atleast you have a tree! We still haven't gotten one this year, instead I hung my ornaments on our curtain rod. Ghetto.
I love the tree! And it makes it all the better that it's real! We don't even have a tree up yet :( so nice work on yours! The party looked like it was a big hit! Way to get right in on the ward fun!
I love it! We have our Christmas party tomorrow and I am helping with it so hopefully it goes as well as yours!
I posted on our blog, just for you!! (:
I love your Christmas tree!!!!! We still don't have one yet. I kind of want to go cut our own down, but we'll see if that happens!
What I want to know is how you're going to fit all of your presents under there!!!
Hi Emily!!! I miss you! We went up to brighton today (Saturday) and it wasn't the same without you. The Crest line was an hour long (it was the only lift open) so we only lasted for 3 runs.
Your christmas tree is gorgeous. love and miss you tons...i can't wait 'til you see my christmas tree. the t-shirt idea is so funny, so you. my roommates always make fun of me for doing little things like that, i guess it's a broadwater thing.
em, i think that tree is a little too much. dont go overboard. :)
This post may have just brought a tear to my eye. I am just a tad emotional lately. Did you get my long email? Yahoo has been being funny for me lately. I love you!
Jean sounds like fun. And I love that tree-- it reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas (except your tree is much better...)
Hey Emily...it's Nicole. I loved finding yours and Heidis blogs! Looks like everything is going well with you. I love the tree as well :)
