My friend, the meteorologist

Last week a friend invited us to go with them on a tour of the National Weather Service Station because her 5 yr old is obsessed with weather. "Well," I said, "it just so happens that my best friend is a meteorologist there." I felt so cool.

So Nanette gave us the tour and it was so interesting and fun. The older kids loved it and Otis loved seeing Nanny at work.
I love this picture even though it's blurry because Otie is holding Nanny's fingers. He loves her.
showing the kids the weather balloon
It was amazing to see where Nanette works and what she actually does! Look at all those computer screens! You wouldn't know looking at her what a nerd she truly is.
Touching a "tornado". Maybe the highlight of Otie's life so far.
The whole drive home he kept saying, "Nanny- touch it- potato!" And I just kept saying, "cool, a potato?" Having no idea what he was talking about. And he kept saying "No!" then saying it again. I've since figured out he was referring to the tornado since he talks about them all the time and draws circles over and over and points to it and says, "potato!"

That is so cool! I had no idea Nanette worked there. I LOVE meteorology! My favorite channel is the weather channel, so I totally relate to her nerdiness ha ha.
